Stuff that made our home feel homey
One of my favorite pastimes is to browse on Instagram and figure out what makes someone’s home take on a specific character. Some homes are like a jungle with animal print wallpapers and velvety pillows, some are like a library inviting you to grab tea and cozy up by the fire, while some others are like a Tahoe treehouse but with modern facilities. When we moved in, the vibes I was going for were: inviting and warm, soft and textured, elegant and timeless, playful and durable. I like to have large furniture items be monotone and have splashes of color in accents (lamps, chairs, cushions). I especially love “functional art”, e.g. a beautiful soda maker built with recycled materials, or this clock that’s funky and intriguing.
